Pilates:
Pilates is a unique exercise system that provides rapid yet lasting results. Pilate works from the inside out by strengthening the core muscles that support the spine. Although pilates is relatively new to “mainstream” fitness, this method of total body conditioning has been around since the early 1900’s. The primary piece of equipment used is the reformer, which operates on various spring levels which are adjusted depending on the client’s strength, weight and height. Workouts on the apparatus are weight-bearing in a non-impact manner and do increase bone density and strengthen the muscles just like traditional weight training.
Our pilates instructors hail from a wide variety of backgrounds and specialties and have man years of experience and numerous certifications. The result is a cohesive pilates staff that can meet the wide array of interests and fitness goals of our clients. Sculpt® offers individual pilates training sessions as well as small group classes on the reformer, which must be booked in advance. If you cannot find a class time that meets your schedule, then find 2-3 friends and we will find an instructor to accommodate YOUR schedule.
Some of the results from pilates include:
• spine stabilization and alignment
• enhanced sports performance
• increased flexibility
• spinal elongation and mobility
• correction of asymmetries
• improvement in cardiovascular system

Muscle Activation Techniques:
Muscle Activation Techniques (MAT) is a comprehensive state-of-the-art checks and balances approach to identifying muscular imbalances. Weak or inhibited muscles can often create the need for other muscles to tighten up and compensate and help stabilize the joints. This can create imbalances in the body, as well as pain. Only MAT can resolve the imbalances that lead to chronic pain and injury. MAT gets to the root of pain or injury by addressing muscle weakness rather than muscle tightness. This helps restore normal body alignment, thereby reducing pain and decreasing the risk of injury.
MAT informs us in making our exercise programming decisions and serves as a powerful tool as we seek to impact our clients’ fitness and steer them away from chronic pain and injury. By restoring proper alignment, functional flexibility, strength, and balance, our clients are able to reap maximal benefits. For more information on the MAT system, visit www.muscleactivation.com.
Some people have reported:
Noticeable decrease in pain
Renewed and improved strength, flexibility and balance
Extreme postural improvements
Better circulation
Greater overall sense of well-being
Improved efficiency and function of nervous system
